Time to update those holiday plans — there’s some streaming to do.

According to the new trailer just dropped by Netflix, Bandersnatch — the latest Black Mirror installment that’s being billed as an “event” — will be released on the streaming service on Friday. And judging by the footage just shared, it’s going to be an intense, pill-popping and mind-bending ride.

Dunkirk’s Fionn Whitehead and Will Poulter (The Revenant) lead the cast, playing employees of a computer games “hit factory.” Their latest project is an adventure game inspired by Bandersnatch, a book written by Jerome F. Davies, a mad genius who may have chopped off his wife’s head.

Davies fan Whitehead gets sucked into the project, and the glimpses of pills and cryptic VHS tapes — all while Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s “Relax” blasts — suggests trippy and sinister times ahead.

Fans of the sci-fi series will have to wait until Friday to see if reports that Bandersnatch will indeed run five hours are true. It’s also rumored to have an interactive, Choose Your Own Adventure-style element to it. With Black Mirror, anything really is possible.
