CÉCRED

Beyoncé just dropped her hair care routine and finally put those wig rumors to rest.

Mrs. “Cowboy Carter,” who launched her own hair care line Cécred in February, took to Instagram to give fans a behind-the-scenes look of her very own wash day diaries as she got ready for the brand’s launch party in LA.

“Now that Cécred is known for the quality and what it does for your hair, I think it's about time I show y’all what it does for my hair,” Beyoncé says in a voice-over of the clip in which she's having her hair washed and conditioned. “I love the lather. It's very soothing, the smells.”

Because Beyoncé’s “color was fresh”—meaning her hair was just dyed blonde, and therefore, more prone to chemical damage—she and her hairstylist opted to use the reparative Fermented Rice & Rose Protein Ritual. “There's nothing in the world like the conditioner. I love it,” she says.

After the two-step ritual was complete, Beyoncé added “a tiny bit of moisture” seal before she heat-styled her own hair with— gasp—a Dyson AirWrap, styling with a brush attachment. Stars: They really are just like us!

Beyoncé also used the opportunity to address speculation that she wears wigs instead of her natural hair.

“The stigma and misconception is that people who wear wigs don't have long and healthy hair. That’s some bullshit because it ain’t nobody’s business,” Beyoncé says. And while she couldn't be more right about it being absolutely no one's business, she certainly proved her point: The video clearly demonstrates Beyoncé's hair isn't just truly her own, but that she has a lot of it. The fact that she's been dyeing it for 25 years is just icing on the cake—and further proof that her hair care routine works.

With that, Beyoncé goes on to share that she prefers to blow dry her “hair on medium heat instead of high” (which is, indeed, recommended for optimal hair health). “I try to stay away from as much heat as possible,” she says, noting that she's consistently chosen color and hair dye over “perms and relaxers,” which helped maintain her hair's health over time.

According to Beyoncé, her hair has grown longer than ever before since using Cécred. “It's never grown so long, never been so moisturized, and I've managed to keep my texture and my curls even with my hair so blonde and my hair is flourishing,” she says, then asks: “Is it Cécred? Is it Cécred?”

Obviously, we're taking notes: As Beyoncé noted in her caption, “maintaining 25 years of blonde on natural hair” is no easy feat. “It’s the hardest to keep color-treated hair healthy and strong,” she admitted, then added: "But Cécred is here. All quality, with no shortcuts."

Considering the fact that she just released a brand-new album, it's safe to say Beyoncé is not one to take shortcuts. In February, she opened up about growing up in her mother Tina Knowles’s hair salon, as well as her “deeply personal” hair care journey.

“I have many beautiful memories attached to my hair,” Beyoncé told Essence. “The relationship we have with our hair is such a deeply personal journey. From spending my childhood in my mother’s salon to my father applying oil on my scalp to treat my psoriasis—these moments have been sacred to me.” And now, they're sacred to her devoted fans, too.
