Friday marked the start of Coachella 2024, which was headlined by Lana Del Rey and also featured sets from Lil Uzi Vert, ATEEZ, Sabrina Carpenter and Justice, among many others. Peso Pluma held the coveted second-highest-billed spot on Friday’s lineup and shared the stage with Becky G, Junior H and reggaetón legend Arcángel. The former joined the Mexican hitmaker to perform their collab “CHANEL,” which is featured on her 2023 album ESQUINAS and features references to Chanel and Cartier.

It was a full-circle moment, as he was a special guest during her 2023 Coachella performance, shortly after his breakout hit with Eslabón Armado, “Ella Baila Sola,” became the first-ever regional Mexican song to hit no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Western-wear staples like cowboy hats — which the Mexican-American singer wore during her 2023 Coachella show — and boots are also a staple in Mexican culture.

Tyler, The Creator headlined Saturday at Coachella, and Doja Cat headlines Sunday. Weekend 2 will kick off on April 19 and have all the artists returning to Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif.

Becky G often wears heels to elevate her petite 5-foot-1 frame. On the 2024 Oscars red carpet, the “MERCEDES” singer wore classic black pointed-toe stiletto pumps. She changed into another daring and glamorous look afterwards for the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in March, stepping out in white satin platform stilettos.

Cowboy Boots

Cowboy boots are a rustic Americana shoe style marked by a pointed toe and an elevated stacked leather heel. Most often made of leather, cowboy boots have a shaft that extends almost to the wearer’s mid-calf. This style of boot often features artistic inlay and overlay designs as decorative features up the shaft and across the vamp.

True to their name, cowboy boots were first popularized by western ranchers in the 1860s, with the sturdy construction withstanding the daily grind of riding and ranching better than standard shoes of the period. Though the style is still associated with the West, it has often come in and out of popular fashion throughout the 1900s and the modern era, most recently thanks to Beyoncé.
