Beauty and Mr. Romantic episode 16 aired on May 12, 2024, on KBS. The rom-com drama has taken a sharp turn, and the narratives of the lead characters, Park Do-Ra and Go Pil-Seung, have changed.
The storyline of the drama revolves around a top actress, Park Do-Ra (Im Soo-Hyang), and a hardworking assistant director, Go Pil-Seung (Ji Hyun-Woo). During a rough patch in her career, Pil-Seung helps her get back on her feet. They had a past together during their childhood, but when they meet again as adults, love sparks between them slowly. However, in the recently released episode, the timeline of the story has shifted.
Beauty and Mr. Romantic episode 16: Im Soo-Hyang’s mother gets arrested
After facing back-to-back allegations, Park Do-Ra loses every ounce of energy to stand firmly on her ground. Furthermore, her life turns into a mess after her mother, Mi Ja, loses all the money in gambling, she breaks off her engagement with Jin Dan, and she breaks up with Pil Seung. As a last resort, she approaches Pil Seung once again, whom she loves dearly. However, in anger and sadness, he doesn’t accept her and leaves her in her mess.
After all these back-to-back setbacks, Park Do-Ra loses her will to live and attempts suicide. Everyone tries to find her, but all the efforts go in vain. In the meantime, Go Pil-Seung finds out the person who surfaced rumors about Park Do-Ra (Im Soo-Hyang). Also, her mother, Mi Ja, gets arrested for fraud and money embezzlement. Amidst this chaos, a woman gets rescued at a seashore and gets full surgery.
Two years later, Pil Seung becomes a director, and everyone is back to their usual lives. The rescued woman has Park Do-Ra’s face, but she has lost her memory. The viewers are now confused about whether she is the real Do-Ra or not. In the meantime, Pil Seung goes to that same seashore to shoot for his drama with Cho Bong-Soon and BiBi. There, he meets Ji-Young, who looks like Do-Ra.
