Banks of the Wabash Festival is May 23 - June 1 at Fairbanks

May 17—The 51st annual Banks of the Wabash Festival, presented by Terre Haute Parks and Recreation Department, will be May 23 to June 1 at Fairbanks Park.

Attractions include the carnival by Luehrs' Ideal Rides, a merchandise and craft market, live music and bingo. Parking is free; no pets are allowed.

Schedule highlights — all times weather permitting — include:

May 23: Festival opens at 6 p.m. Family Bargain Night — all rides take one ticket, which are $2 each or 16 for $30.

May 24: Festival opens at 5 p.m. Wrist band night; ride all night for $30. Gracie Scott Band at 7 p.m.

May 25: Festival opens at 4 p.m. Rides take two or more tickets, which are $1.50 each or 22 for $30. Philadelphia Phil & Pedder's French at 7 p.m. Rumble at the River, presented by New Wave Pro and Sweatbox Gym, starts at 6 p.m.

May 26: Festival opens at 4 p.m. Wrist Band Day, unlimited rides for $30. Gospel Day starts at 5 p.m.

May 27: Festival Opens at 4 p.m. Wrist Band Day, 2 wrist bands for $30, good for unlimited rides 4-6 p.m. JC Clements plays at 5 p.m.; Duke Tumatoe plays at 7:30 p.m.

May 28: Festival opens at 6 p.m. Family Bargain Night, all rides take one ticket, $2 each or 16 for $30.

May 29: Festival opens at 6 p.m. Family Bargain Night, all rides take one ticket, $2 each or 16 for $30.

May 30: Festival opens at 6 p.m. Wrist Band Night, unlimited rides $30.

May 31: Festival opens at 6 p.m. Wrist Band Night, unlimited rides $30. Joe Hess Country Band at 7 p.m.

June 1: Festival open 2 to 7 p.m. Last Blast Special, $30 wrist bands good 2 to 7 p.m. Terre Haute Community Band plays at 8 p.m.

When the following day is a weekday, the carnival closed approximately 10 p.m. When the following day is a weekend day, the carnival closes at 11 p.m. The carnival closes at 7 p.m. June 1.

May 23 — May 25: 6 to 10 p.m.

May 26 & 27: 4 to 10 p.m.

May 28 and 29: 6 to 10 p.m.

May 30: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

May 31: 8 to 10 p.m.

June 1: 4 to 10 p.m.
