‘Bachelorette’ Star Ryan Sutter Takes On ‘American Ninja Warrior’ Course

Former Bachelorette contestant Ryan Sutter figured that if he could win a wife on TV, he should be able to finish some silly little ninja course on TV. So he and his TV wife, Trista, loaded up the family and headed down to Denver to take on the qualifier course for American Ninja Warrior.

The Sutters are probably the most popular couple from the Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise. They met on the first season of The Bachelorette, with Ryan vying for Trista’s rose, and have been together ever since.

Now that they have kids they don’t appear on camera quite as much. Trista said, “Now we live a relatively quiet life here in the Rocky Mountains, and life is really about us and our family and our kids.”

Ryan is a firefighter in Vail, Colo., and he said he entered the competition because “I think the kids are really excited that I’m competing. … American Ninja Warrior is fun for all ages, and we watch it together.” So with his whole family watching, he took on the course.

Ryan made it past the first two obstacles, but when he tried to jump off the trampoline of the third obstacle, his knees buckled and he ended up in the freezing water. But he didn’t let that dampen his spirit too much because he quickly jumped out and gave Trista a giant wet hug.

American Ninja Warrior airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on NBC. Watch clips and full episodes of American Ninja Warrior for free on Yahoo View.
