Warning: spoilers ahead for Monday night's episode of The Bachelorette.

During part one of Fantasy Suite week on The Bachelorette Monday night, Gabby Windey's date with Johnny DePhillipo wasn't going so well after the topic of potentially getting engaged in a little over a week came up.

Before going into the overnight portion of the date, Gabby wanted to make sure Johnny saw a future with her. So while sipping champagne on the beach, Gabby shared how much she has grown on her Bachelorette journey and has realized that she is ready to be engaged. Johnny told her that while he is falling in love with her, the process has also been very fast and he isn't ready to be engaged. Understandable in the real world, but this is The Bachelorette, after all. He knew what he was getting himself into!

"You're exactly the person that I'd want to, like, fall in love with and just be my person forever," Johnny told Gabby. "But I just don't know if I can get to an engagement in the next week or so. You know, it's not that I don't like you. It's not that I'm not falling for you. It's not that I can't see myself with you. It's just more so just, like, it scares me. And I don't know if I can bring 100% to the table and commit to that end result if I'm not ready. That's just me being honest with you."

Ultimately, Gabby knew that they both wanted two different things and were on different timelines, so they needed to say goodbye. But while the end of their story was unexpected for them, it was not at all a surprise to viewers, since before Gabby and Johnny's date, ABC aired a promo for the upcoming season of Bachelor in Paradise during a commercial break, in which Johnny is front-and-center on the beach.

Viewers immediately took to Twitter following the promo to call out ABC for the spoiler, while others thought the network's flub was pretty hilarious.

However, the best tweets were from viewers who pointed out how, following their breakup, Gabby got back onto the boat and sailed off, leaving Johnny alone on the beach as if she had just dropped him off in Paradise.

In the end, Gabby was heartbroken as she shared, "It feels like a little bit of a punch in the gut because it was a fear, you know, that I've had all along, and now it's kind of coming to fruition, which is, I start to fall for someone, but they can't meet me where I am or give me what I need. And it's scary as hell."

Gabby added, "Saying goodbye to Johnny was hard, but it's, like, kind of meant to be. Because as much as, like, I don't want to say goodbye to Johnny and, like, I know he'll always have a piece of me, like, I know there's something waiting for me that's really great with Erich and Jason. I've been tired of fighting for love for a long time and having it right in front of my face is, like, so enlightening in the best way."

The Bachelorette airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
