Aubrey O'Day song lyrics may have revealed affair with Donald Trump Jr. in 2013

There’s no shortage of gossipy theories floating around regarding the cause of Donald Trump Jr. and wife Vanessa Trump’s impending split. The latest, however, is a bit out of left field: an unearthed 2013 song from singer Aubrey O’Day that seems to hint at a tumultuous affair with the president’s married son.

O’Day, a former member of pop group Danity Kane, put out a solo album, Between Two Evils, in 2013, which leads off with a song titled “DJT.”

At first listen, it just seems like a standard kiss-off to a romance gone wrong, with a chorus of “I hate me for loving you, hate you for letting our love die.” But it also contains a rather telling conversation between the ex-lovers: Her: “You want to believe that everything with me was a lie? A fantasy?” Him: “I’ll always want you and always wonder about it, but it doesn’t matter because I have to stay here.”

If that’s not enough evidence, the song pretty much smacks you in the face once you consider the title. (Trump Jr.’s initials are the same as his father’s; his full name is Donald John Trump Jr. ) You can hear the whole song below:

In hindsight, the song also contains some hints that the affair might be one that promised to cause some serious issues — something that likely would only be the case between two high-profile lovers. “Tell me you love me and I won’t talk to you anymore/I’ll leave you alone,” O’Day sings. The reply is: “Look, it doesn’t matter, it can’t matter/The truth will only kill us both.”

The album was released a couple of years after O’Day’s participation in the Trump reality show The Celebrity Apprentice in 2011, and it all cuts a little too close to the bone to dismiss the rumors.

Additionally, O’Day sent out a cryptic tweet on Nov. 8, 2016, when Donald Trump was elected president. “My story I didn’t tell is worth millions now,” she noted.

News sources are buzzing with claims that Trump Sr. stepped in and stopped the affair, pressuring his eldest son to stay in his marriage. There has been no comment on the matter from either O’Day or Trump Jr.

It’s not clear who first unearthed the five-year-old song, nor why it didn’t attract attention when the album was released, considering the timing of O’Day’s Apprentice tenure. One thing is for sure, however, and that’s that social media is having a field day with the discovery, with reactions ranging from laughter to disgust.

O’Day first came to prominence in 2005 as part of Danity Kane in MTV’s reality series Making the Band.
