Ariana Grande Performed "The Wizard and I" at NBC's "Wicked" Concert Special

Her take on "The Wizard and I" aired Oct. 29.

Ariana Grande celebrated Halloween a few days early by performing “The Wizard and I” during the Wicked 15th Anniversary Special, which aired on Oct. 29.

The much-anticipated special featured Ariana along with original Wicked cast members Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth. Of course, Ariana held her own and got into the Wicked spirit by singing "The Wizard and I" from the musical.

During her performance, Ariana rocked her signature ponytail with a dark green top and lipstick as she performed on stage. Ariana later reportedly posted and then deleted a photo of herself dressed as Elphaba when she was younger. Per Just Jared Jr., the caption read, "Hope you enjoyed #wicked15 🖤 so grateful to have been a part of something so special alongside my idols ! safe to say i’ve always identified as an elphie." Ariana also posted a cute photo with Idina Menzel on Twitter on Oct. 29.

It’s probably not a surprise that the singer is a huge fan of the long-running musical. Her favorite song is “Making Good,” despite it getting cut from the musical, according to Kristin Chenoweth. “Those lyrics stuck with me all these years,” the original musical star told EW recently. “I wish Idina could release it, or somebody could do it. It’d be cool.”

The pop star previously teased her Elphaba performance by posting the lyrics to “The Wizard and I” on Instagram with the caption, “Honored to be included in this celebration of 15 years of my favorite musical of all time 💚 wouldn’t miss it for the whole universe #wicked15.”
