Anya Taylor-Joy stepped out in style in all-white for the world premiere of her latest film, “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. Her lush look was pulled together by white barely there heels from Aquazzura, the Olie Sandal 105.
The “Queen’s Gambit” actor’s elegant Italian-made shoes boast a four-inch stiletto heel, a round-toe, and a slim leather strap across the toes and ankles.
The actor has been pairing daring fashion with stylish heels, including several pairs from Aquazzura, for the global “Furiosa” press tour.
During a photocall for the film in Mexico City on May 6, she paired the same pair of Aquazzura white Olie sandals with a futuristic white outfit. On the same day, she wore a different pair of stilettos from the Italian brand, the on-trend clear Aquazzura So Nude Plexi 105 Sandal. She also wore the clear PVC heels during the “Furiosa” Australian premiere on May 2. To kick off the dystopian action flick’s promo run at CinemaCon 2024 in April, she donned a classic pair of black patent Christian Louboutin pointed-toe pumps, another favorite footwear designer of the Golden Globe-winning actor.
Taylor-Joy, along with costar Chris Hemsworth and director George Miller, attended the buzzy Cannes Film Festival to screen the latest Mad Max film. The audience reportedly gave the big-budget action film an impressive six-minute standing ovation, which prompted Taylor-Joy to blow kisses and take a bow and Hemsworth to get teary-eyed.
“Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” will be released in the U.S. on May 24 and is the prequel to 2015’s “Mad Max: Fury Road,” which also debuted at Cannes. The new film follows the story of Furiosa, played in the prior movie by Charlize Theron.
Anja Taylor-Joy’s Shoe Style
Taylor-Joy is one of a growing number of celebrities, including Zendaya, that applies method dressing techniques when appearing on red carpets to promote a film. Thus, she and her stylist Ryan Hastings use themes from the project to inform her style. Last year, she wore a pair of hot pink boots to channel her character Princess Peach as she promoted “The Super Mario Bros. Movie.” When she’s not method dressing, she is often spotted in pumps and heeled sandals from including Christian Louboutin, Aquazzura and other top designers. In 2022, she notably wore a pair of 7-inch peep-toe pumps while in London.
