AnnaLynne McCord spills '90210' secrets, reveals who she hung out with off camera
We miss the good old days when television was founded on entertaining viewers with superficial statuses and unattainable lifestyles. You know, the days when not every television sitcom ended in a moral lesson that no one has time for.
Between 2008 and 2013, 90210 was serving up the immoral and addictive television drama that every in-crowd teenager was clinging to. Riddled with hot actors like AnnaLynne McCord, Josh Henderson, Shenae Grimes and dozens more, the show served as the perfect dose of mindless, cursory entertainment as teens in the most sought-after ZIP code in the country navigated high school politics, family drama, money, sex, and underage antics. Did we already mention that they were supermodels on top of it?
Years after the show wrapped, AnnaLynne McCord, aka Naomi Clark, stopped by The Morning Breath on Wednesday to dish on the drama fans didn’t see and reveals how the show changed the trajectory of her career.
“There was way more drama off the set than there was on,” admits McCord about the cast and crew. “I was like, they should be filming behind the scenes of this stuff.”
Straying away from the clique-like atmosphere that is often fostered on Hollywood sets, the 30-year-old admits, “I hung a lot with the guys, and I love, love, loved working with Matt [Lanter].”
Looking back on the show’s start, the actress — who is now starring in the new Pop TV series Let’s Get Physical — credits the Beverly Hills show to paving the way for her acting career. “At first, I was a total diva brat,” laughs McCord. “When you get success early and you don’t realize how lucky you are to be doing what you love to do every single — not everyone gets that opportunity. And I was very blessed.”
One particular practice the actress adopted from the show was ownership over the characters she plays and staying true to who they are — an approach she still applies in her career.
McCord shares, “I like to think I fight for things I really believe in, and I believe in the way my characters are viewed.”
