Anna Paquin Sparks Fan Concern After Making Rare Red Carpet Appearance With a Cane

Fans are showing concern for Anna Paquin after the True Blood actress made a rare red carpet appearance and was photographed walking with a cane.

On Wednesday, April 3, the 41-year-old hit the premiere of her latest movie, A Bit of Light, walking the red carpet with her husband, Stephen Moyer, who also directed the film, at the Crosby Street Hotel in New York City.

While at the event, Paquin caught up with reporters, telling People that dealing with her undisclosed health issues "hasn't been easy." Aside from struggles with mobility, it was revealed that the She's All That actress has also been experiencing some difficulties with her speech.

On social media, fans offered encouraging words, sending well wishes like, "My prayers for her. I hope she gets well" and "She going to recover fast." Others were saddened to see the health update, like one X (formerly Twitter) user, who added, "Wow that's unfortunate."

Meanwhile, others wondered if she could be battling MS (multiple sclerosis), similarly to Christina Applegate, who also often uses a walking cane to offer assistance with mobility.

Despite her health woes, though, Paquin made it clear that she's grateful to have had the opportunity to continue an acting career, and doing what she enjoys.

"My first love was independent filmmaking," she told the outlet. Paquin won an Oscar award at age 11 for her role in The Piano, so she's no newcomer to Hollywood success"That's how I entered the film industry. I was working with people who were all about telling stories and telling them with integrity and truth."

In the upcoming drama flick, she steps into the role of an alcoholic mother who loses custody of her children and has to pick up the pieces of her broken life while reconciling with her past, according to a synopsis.

A Bit of Light hits theaters on Friday, April 5.
