Anna Kendrick was looking forward to the 2022 Toronto Film Festival and the debut of her latest film–the psychological thrillerAlice, Darling–when she became trapped inside an elevator.

Earlier today, Kendrick shared a video on Instagram that showed her trapped inside an elevator with the rest of her team. In the recent post, the 37-year-old actress appeared to be stressed, but in true Kendrick fashion, she coped with comedy.

“This is why I shouldn’t leave the house without at least like a little airplane-sized bottle because you never know when you’re going to get stuck in an elevator," she can be heard joking in the video.

As the video continued, it was one witty statement after the other.

"Guys, we have to ration the limited food supply that we have," Kendrick teased as the video zoomed in on a fellow passenger's pack of gum being shared.

Kendrick later joked, “Just vibing in the elevator. … We love it!"

Towards the end of the video, the actress showed firefighters helping her and her team out of the elevator. The video ended with a few snapshots the actress took with the fire crew after they were rescued.

"Ah, the classic “I’m behind schedule at this film festival because I had to be rescued from an elevator” excuse #TIFF22," she captioned the video.

Kendrick spoke with PEOPLE after the incident and noted that her defense mechanism was to crack jokes

"I couldn't stop cracking jokes," she said. "Although, maybe that's a defense mechanism. 'Come on, Anna. Do you know anything about yourself?' I think that was probably a defense mechanism. Oh no, I'm not healthy!"
