Anna Kendrick loved beating out Ryan Reynolds for Teen Choice award: 'In your face!'

At Sunday’s Teen Choice Awards 2018, while walking up to accept the award for Choice Comedy Movie Actress for her performance in Pitch Perfect 3, Anna Kendrick learned that she also won for Choice Twit — given to the star who has captured fans’ hearts on Twitter — which seemed to get her much more excited than winning the award for acting.

“You guys, you guys,” Kendrick said excitedly when she got to the microphone. “Did I just hear that I won Choice Twitter?”

The old Twitter pro beat out Chrissy Teigen, Kumail Nanjiani, Mark Hamill, and Mindy Kaling. But the one name that really got her excited was Deadpool 2 star Ryan Reynolds.

I have so much fun on Twitter. And I know that Mindy and Kumail and stuff were nominated,” Kendrick said. “And also I know that Ryan Reynolds was nominated so in your face, Ryan! Yeah. I beat you. Stay in your lane!”

Kendrick is starring alongside Reynolds’s wife, Blake Lively, in the movie A Simple Favor, which hits theaters on Sept. 14, so the trash talk was all in good fun. And that’s probably for the better because a battle between Reynolds, who once claimed on Twitter that he gave his daughter fire ants to see if she’s ready for a kitten, and Kendrick, who apparently measures time in how many episodes of Law and Order: SVU she can watch, could get pretty dark.

The Teen Choice Awards 2018 aired Sunday night at 8 p.m. on Fox.
