Andy Cohen made a big mistake. Huge! He just criticized his almost-2-year-old daughter Lucy’s American Girl Doll (*gasp!*) and was quickly roasted — er, corrected — by fans.

“With all due respect to American Girl Dolls,” the Watch What Happens Live! host started out his controversial take on his Instagram story on Thursday (the same video was also saved to his “Parenting!” story highlights on his page). “I’ve been trying to get Lucy to play with this one for a while,” he continued, as he pulled out a doll with short brown hair and blue eyes, wearing a black floral dress and pink leather jacket.

“She kinda looks like an anchor lady from the Rust Belt,” he continued. “Like, in the ‘90s.” He looked at the doll and added, “Is she fun? Like, I don’t know. … Lucy ain’t buying it. Anyway, I’m a little befuddled by this one.”

The Bravo TV host also shared a poll asking if this doll was “fun!?!?!?”

Apparently, people were not happy about his snarky comment on the beloved doll brand. After a couple hours of roasting, he took to his stories to clarify all his newfound knowledge about the toys.

While tagging @americangirlbrand, he said, “OK, so, I’ve been getting a lot of comments about this doll,” he said. “I know, now, that American Girl Dolls are meant typically for girls 5 years old to 8 years old and up. Got it.”

He also mentioned that many people recommended he get his daughter a Bitty Baby Doll. “Actually, we have that, and she loves it,” he said. “So, justice for American Girl Dolls.” He definitely learned his lesson critiquing American Girl!

For those who aren’t familiar, Bitty Baby Dolls can be customized by skin, hair, and eye color like their classic American Girl Doll counterparts, but they are made for babies and toddlers to play with. These dolls have a super soft cloth body to make it easier to cuddle, and they come with fabric diapers and onesies to mimic clothes your baby and toddler will actually wear.

Last month, Lucy showed off her feisty personality in a car ride with her older brother Ben, 5. “Lucy, say ‘poo poo,’” Ben says from his carseat in the back.

Cohen shakes his head and tries to get his daughter to say her own name instead. You can just hear a strong, “No!” coming from her carseat. She’s clearly not going to let anyone tell her what to say — or what to play with!

These Black and biracial dolls are beautiful, fun, and important for all kids to own.
