It looks like after acting like one of the biggest Karens to have ever walked the earth, DJ Vlad is continuously trying to backtrack. When he criticized the production of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” over the weekend, he was swiftly put in his place.

“You are WHITE. This is a BLACK FOLK AFFAIR,” Princeton professor—and niece of Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins—Morgan Jerkins wrote in a reply that went viral on X. Vlad was predictably embarrassed and threatened to get Jerkins fired from her position.

“Wait, so a professor at @Princeton is telling me that a white person shouldn’t be allowed to voice their opinion about Hip-Hop? Is that how you interact with your students,” Vlad wrote. After a heated exchange, he doubled down on contacting her employer.

On Monday, Vlad insisted that was just bluffing. “I never had any intention of filing a complaint to Princeton for former professor Morgan Jerkins saying that white people aren’t allowed to comment on Kendrick Lamar’s music,” he stated.

“She trolled me and I trolled back. At the end of the day, it created an interesting discussion about race relations in America. I will be discussing it further in my future interviews.” This was obviously a lie as he tagged Princeton in his replies to Jerkins.

In the face of continuous backlash, Vlad has now offered a formal apology. “After considerable reflection, I would like to apologize to @MorganJerkins for tagging her job in my replies during our Twitter exchange last weekend,” he posted on May 8.

Vlad’s hollow apology received hundreds of replies, most of which called out his phony demeanor. Jerkins has yet to reply to Vlad’s post—even though she was tagged in it—which is for the best: he doesn’t deserve another ounce of her time.
