Other previously announced cast members of the cast include Reina Hardesty, Piper Perabo, Louis Landau, Park Hae-soo, Kim Tae-hee and Nayoon Kim.

“Butterfly,” an adaptation of the graphic novel written by Arash Amel and Marguerite Bennett, is a character-driven spy thriller focusing on Kim’s character, David Jung, an “enigmatic, highly unpredictable former US intelligence operative living in South Korea, whose life is blown to pieces when the consequences of an impossible decision from his past come back to haunt him, and he finds himself pursued by Rebecca (Hardesty), a deadly, sociopathic young agent assigned to kill him.”

Dulake will play Hollis, the right-hand man to Perabo’s Juno who oversees the staff of her private intelligence company. An actor and producer based in Seoul and Los Angeles, Dulake has starred in Korean and English language series and movies including 2015’s “Ktown Cowboys” and 2016’s “Operation Chromite.” He is repped by BH Entertainment and Untitled Entertainment.

Kim Ji-hoon will play Gun, described as “a brutally effective hitman” who “embraces the challenge of taking down a renowned agent like David Jung.” A recipient of the Best Artist Award at the 2023 Asia Artist Awards, Kim has starred in “Ballerina,” “Death’s Game,” “Love to Hate You” and “Money Heist Korea.”

Parnell has been cast as Senator George Dawson, the politician investigating Juno’s private intelligence company. He most recently starred opposite Michael Fassbender in David Fincher’s “The Killer” and has appeared in “Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One,” “Top Gun: Maverick” and TNT’s “The Last Ship.”

Sung Dong-il (“Pawn,” “Two Stone”) will play Dootae Kim, David Jung’s father-in-law who is described as “a formidable Korean patriarch who runs a successful shipping company, his business connects him to friends in both high and low places.” Lee Il-hwa (“Beauty and Innocent Man, Eve”) will play his wife, Jung’s mother-in-law.

The series is co-created by Ken Woodruff (“The Mentalist,” “Gotham”) and novelist Steph Cha, who also serve as executive producers. In addition to starring, Daniel Dae Kim is executive producing with John Cheng under their 3AD banner. Other executive producers include Amel and BOOM! Studios’ Stephen Christy, Ross Richie and Adam Yoelin.
