Alien: Romulus creeps into theaters this summer, and following a thrilling first teaser trailer, a brand new image has been unveiled by USA Today in their look ahead at 2024's upcoming releases.

Fede Alvarez directs the picture, which is said to take place between the events of Ridley Scott's 1979 film Alien and James Cameron's Aliens from 1986.

Starring Cailee Spaeny, Isabela Merced, Archie Renaux, David Jonsson, Spike Fearn and Aileen Wu, the film follows the young space colonizers who come face to face with some terrifying creatures and a deadly Xenomorph while scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station.

The new look from USA Today gives a first glimpse at that very Xenomorph, which will terrorize the young colonizers.

It's a pretty creepy image, providing audiences with a teaser of what's to come when Alien: Romulus hits theaters on August 16.

Fans of the hit film series can rest easy knowing that it has the Ridley Scott and James Cameron stamp of approval. Both directors have seen and loved the film, with Scott's first reaction reportedly being an eloquent "It's f*****g great".
