After recently unveiling an exclusive new iteration of the Air Jordan 5 following a planet Mars motif, the Jordan Brand has revealed an upcoming college-themed version of the staple.

Dubbed Air Jordan 5 "UNC," the model arrives in a "University Blue" colorway, a nod to Michael Jordan's alma mater, the University of North Carolina -- a motif previously touched upon models like the Air Jordan 3 and Air Jordan 6. The sneaker, which was first talked about in May, sees contrasting black and white hues and features a silver 3M reflective tongue and a translucent TPU cage mid-foot.

Following the Varsity treatment, the wording "Heart" and "Soul" can be read behind the tongues, most likely referencing the time MJ attended Chapel Hill-based college. Elsewhere, an icy translucent outsole and a black midsole remixed with grey speckling complete the look. The shoes are set to be packaged in a special box and will be available in full family sizing.
