'Absolutely Ridiculous': Mother Looking for Baby Formula Finds Empty Shelves

The mother of a 6-month-old infant in Louisiana was confronted with empty shelves when she searched for baby formula at a superstore this week.

Amber J Ramshur shared this video on Tiktok, which she said was recorded on May 12 at a Walmart in Gretna, Louisiana, outside New Orleans. Ramshur told Storyful that she first noticed the shortage in her area last week, when she was unable to buy her son’s Enfamil NeuroPro Infant formula.

“I ended up having to order some premade formula online. But they’ll only allow you to purchase four bottles at a time, which is only enough for about three to four days,” Ramshur said.

The White House has acknowledged that formula is out of stock in many locations across the country, and says it is trying to ease the shortages. Analysts have pinned the situation on a February recall of several popular brands, and ongoing supply chain issues impacting the entire economy. Credit: @amberjramshur via Storyful
