More than 30 bars and restaurants have opened so in Louisville this year: See the full list

Louisville's restaurant scene continues to boom. The city saw more than 130 restaurants open in 2023 and who knows how many will open or close in the year ahead.

Thirty-two new spots have opened so far in 2024, including a once-closed Champagne bar, a Korean tea and coffee shop, and two pizza joints.

Take a look below at the list of restaurants that have opened so far, and ones we know are on the way. We will keep updating this list as the year unfolds.

Restaurants that opened in Louisville in 2024

1. Anko Sushi 304 W. Woodlawn Ave. This new sushi restaurant with weekly specials opened in January at The Streatery, a food hall in the Beechmont neighborhood.

2. Bamboo Coffee & Donuts2400 Lime Kiln Lane A1. This new coffee and donut shop opened in early 2024 and focuses on craft coffee and cake doughnuts with flavors such as Old Fashioned, Blueberry Buttercream, Maple Berry, Triple Chocolate Donuts, and more.

3. Blak Koffee2820 W. Broadway. A second location of this coffee shop opened inside the nonprofit’s West Louisville Opportunity Center in March.

4. Cafe Kiwa 2235 Frankfort Ave. This Korean coffee and tea shop opened in January in the Clifton neighborhood.

5. The Champagnery1764 Frankfort Ave. After a year-long closure, this bar specializing in Champagne and sparkling wine reopened in early January with an expanded drink and food menu.

6. Chipotle1620 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana. The chain opened its first location in Jeffersonville in February and it includes a drive-thru pick-up lane.

7. CM Chicken 2221 Frankfort Ave. This Korean fried chicken restaurant opened in March and also serves boba tea and Korean street food dishes.

8. Cosmic Bird 916 Baxter Ave. Cosmic Bird features vegan items, including its popular vegan fried chicken, fish sandwich, mushroom burger, Impossible meat sausages, onion rings, and burritos. It opened in the Highlands in mid-February.

9. Costa del Sol818 W Kenwood Drive. This Latin restaurant opened in mid-January 2024 in the Colonial Gardens in south Louisville.

10. Craft House Pizza816 West Kenwood Drive. The sixth location of this area pizza chain has opened at Colonial Gardens.

11. Crave Cafe and Catering3703 Johnson Hall Drive. This catering company opened in early 2024 in a renovated space on the lower level of The Olmsted.

12. Crumbl Cookies291 N. Hubbards Lane. Another Louisville location of this popular cookie chain opened in St. Matthews on Feb. 14.

13. DiOrio's Pizza & Pub7507 River Road. The restaurant marks DiOrio's third location, adding to its pubs in St. Matthews and the Highlands that specialize in hand-tossed, New York-style pizza. It officially opened in early 2024.

14. Drick's Treats Café & Bakery10616 Meeting St, Prospect. This bakery, which serves artisanal pastries and aromatic coffees, opened in Norton Commons in March.

15. Earlybird Bagel Shop 1039 Ash St. The grab-and-go bagel shop opened in late March March. Because of its small-match nature, Earlybird will offer weekly flavors along with breakfast and lunch sandwiches using local ingredients.

16. Hi-Five Doughnuts — 1940 Harvard Drive. This doughnut shop has relocated to Douglass Loop. It opened in February.

17. Hokkaido Ramen & Sushi  818 W. Kenwood Drive. This Asian restaurant serves ramen, sushi, and other Asian dishes, as well as bubble tea and sake, at its location in Colonial Gardens. It opened in February.

18. Hop Atomica — 1318 McHenry St. A brewery, distillery and pizzeria is expected to open in Germantown.

19. I Love Tacos400 S 2nd St. I Love Tacos opened its newest location inside the Omni Louisville Hotel in downtown Louisville in February. It's located in the hotel's Falls City Market, and it's the fourth location for the popular eatery.

20. Jin Doshirak211 S. Fifth St. This Korean and sushi restaurant is scheduled to open in February.

21. LuCretia's Kitchen617 W. Oak St. This soul food and barbecue restaurant, known for its “Love at first bite” motto, opened in March in the former site of Daddy Rich’s space in Old Louisville.

22. Marco's Pizza3831 Ruckriegel Pkwy. This popular pizza chain opened a location in Jeffersontown in January.

23. The Misfit Lou — 119 S. 7th St. The Misfit Lou, a bar and restaurant with a stage for events downstairs, opened in early 2024 in the downtown building formerly occupied by Jimmy Can't Dance and Another Place Sandwich Shop. The downstairs cocktail lounge is called The Hereafter.

24. Parlour Pizza901 E. Liberty St. Parlour Pizza announced its sixth location is set to open on Jan. 29 at the Falls City Beer taproom in NuLu, marking a "collaborative restaurant venture" for the two establishments.

25. Phalcha Coffee1001 Mary St. This Nepali coffee shop, which opened in early March in Germantown, serves purple drinks, ice cream, and "good vibes."

26. Senora Arepa 928 Baxter Ave. This Venezuelan restaurant, with another location in St. Matthews, will take over the former home of Taco Luchador in the Highlands Both restaurant concepts are owned by Olé Restaurant Group.

27. Seven Cocktails + Bourbon815 E. Market St. A new bourbon and cocktail bar opened in early January at NuLu Marketplace in the space formerly occupied by Buff City Soap.

28. Spinelli's Pizzeria 574 S. Fourth St. This local pizza chain is returning downtown with a location on Fourth Street. It opened in late February.

29. Subway9470 Brownsboro Road. A Subway location that closed in Springhurst Towne Center in June 2022 reopened near the Paddock Shops in January.

30. Taco Rico519 Oak St. This Mexican restaurant, which has an extensive breakfast menu, opened in January.

31. Ten20 Craft Brewery 1400 Main St., Clarksville, Indiana. This popular craft brewery opened its first Southern Indiana location inside a 3,400-square-foot taproom on Jan. 19.

32. Top 1 Korean BBQ & Hotpot — 1803 Bardstown Road. This Korean barbecue restaurant opened in the Highlands neighborhood of Louisville in early January.

Here are the restaurants that have been announced to open around Louisville:

1. 7 Brew4217 Shelbyville Road. This drive-thru coffee shop is expected to open in July.

2. Andy's Frozen Custard — 11600 Shelbyville Road. This quick-service frozen dessert business is opening its first Louisville location in 2024.

3. Atomic 1125 Bardstown Road. This bar with a patio and game yard is expected to replace a laundromat that previously occupied the Highlands spot.

4. Bojangles— 2717 S. Hurstbourne Parkway. A new structure will be built at this address for the first Louisville location of the Bojangles franchise.

5. Bojangles — 4023 Poplar Level Road. A second location is in the works for Louisville.

6. Boone's Deli 10414 Watterson Trail. This shop serving sandwiches, soups and salads is expected to open in May in Jefferstontown.

7. Bubba's 33  10435 Southpointe Blvd. A burger, pizza, and beer restaurant is planned for Louisville.

8. Crust & Crumb 6301 Meeting St. Crust & Crumb, an artisan baking business, is expected to open in June on Meeting Street in Norton Commons.

9. Donatos Pizza Locations TBD. The pizza franchise plans to open two locations, one in Middletown and Jeffersontown, sometime in 2024.

10. Elderberry Provisions3909 Chenoweth Square. Elderberry Provisions, which provides catering and gourmet to-go lunch, dinner and bakery, is set to open April 9 in the former Cheddar Box location in St. Matthews

11. EST 1927 by Marigold Catering Company — 2035 2. Third St. A new concept from The House of Marigold owners will move into a space at the Speed Art Museum, after the closure of Wiltshire At The Speed. The cafe should open by the summer of 2024.

12. Franny’s998 Goss Ave. This new seafood restaurant specializing in fresh oysters is scheduled to open in Schnitzelburg in late 2024.

13. Goldie's829 E. Market St. This new bar, near Grind Burger Kitchen in Nulu, is registered to Chelsea Moore, with the Breeze Wine Bar. It's expected to open in 2024.

14. Heard — 1601 Story Ave. A new bar and restaurant will open in the former Gold Bar and Butchertown Social space. The bar is expected to open in spring 2024. It was previously going to be named The Sphinx.

15. HWA Korean Grill Kitchen — 1164 S. Third St. A Korean grill is opening in Louisville sometime in 2024.

16. Inside Job Brewing Co.  1031 S. Sixth St. The brewery previously known as Oldham Brewing Co. is changing its name and moving to Old Louisville.

17. Kiwami Ramen — 1700 Bardstown Road. Wild Ginger Sushi Bistro, an Asian fusion restaurant in Deer Park, has permanently closed and will be replaced by Kiwami Ramen, which is expected to open in 2024.

18. Limon y Sal — 2222 Dundee Road. Mexican restaurant Limon y Sal is planning a second location to open in the former Hammerheads in the Highlands.

19. Monk’s Road Boiler House 131 W. Main St. Log Still Distillery plans to open a high-end restaurant and tasting room, called Monk’s Road Boiler House, in early May.

20. Nu Restaurant Bar Rooftop — 811 E. Market St. This rooftop bar is planned for NuLu.

21. Oishii Ramen12472 La Grange Road.  A new ramen establishment is opening in Louisville's East End in mid-February. The new location will serve rice don — a rice bowl with meat and a sauce — make its broth and also sell bubble tea.

22. Patisserie Francaise Louisville 1355 Bardstown Road. This new bakery near the Highland Mart convenience store and the restaurant La Chasse is expected to open in the spring.

23. Peach Cobbler Factory — 801 W. Broadway. A third Louisville location of Peach Cobbler Factory is opening in downtown Louisville.

24. Roll-Em-Up TaquitosLocation to be announced. This Southern California-based taquito fast-casual restaurant chain is set to open its first Louisville location in 2024.

25. The Sake a Go Go — 620 E. Market St. A new Japanese-inspired restaurant serving sushi and sashimi is set to open in NuLu in 2024.

26. Steak & Bourbon115 S. Fourth St. The Olé Hospitality Group plans to open a new location of Steak & Bourbon downtown at 115 S. Fourth St., near the intersection of Fourth and Market streets, in July.

27. Trellis Brewing — 827 Logan St. A new brewery and taproom is planned to open in Smoketown.

28. YachtSea 111 N. Wenzel St. Inspired by nautical and tropical themes, this Butchertown spot hopes to offer an escape-type vibe and is on track to open by summer.

29. Witches Brew Coffee — 1813 Frankfort Ave. This locally-owned coffee shop offering metaphysical items and tarot card readings is expected to open in 2024.
