Thunder on Cocoa Beach

The Thunder on Cocoa Beach Super Boat Grand Prix powerboat race returns to Cocoa Beach on May 16 through 19. The races kick off around 10 a.m. Sunday, May 19, off the shore of Cocoa Beach, with related events planned for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The racing event, one of the largest in Central Florida, draws top race teams in the world to compete in various classes, with Class 1 racers reaching speeds over 175 mph. This year’s races will take place offshore from Alan Shepard Park to Coconuts on the Beach.  Admission is free, but VIP tickets with access to shaded seating, refreshments and premium viewing are available. Summer Art & Craft Fair in Cocoa Village

The free kid-and-pet-friendly event will be in Cocoa Village on Saturday, May 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sunday, May 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be street food, live entertainment and more. Artists and crafters will showcase their wares. Visit visitcocoavillage.com.

Space Coast Burger Battle in Wickham Park

The third annual Space Coast Burger Battle will be at Wickham Park, 2500 Parkway Drive, Melbourne, on Saturday, May 18 from noon to 8 p.m. and Sunday, May 19 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Guests will enjoy special a-la-carte menus with food priced at $5 or less per item. There will also be live entertainment, an arts and crafts fair, gem mining, axe throwing, face painting and more. ‘Dinner & Show’ concert in Satellite Beach

Melbourne Municipal Band presents “Dinner & Show,” at Trinity Wellsprings Church, 638 S. Space Coast Symphony Orchestra’s 15th anniversary concerts

Space Coast Symphony Orchestra celebrates its 15th anniversary with a gala concert at The Scott Center at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, 5625 Holy Trinity Drive, Melbourne, on Saturday, May 25, at 7 p.m. The program features works by Tchaikovsky, Marquez and Marshall, along with a world premiere from SCSO favorite, Kevin Wilt. • Swan Lake: The Brevard Ballet Youth Company presents “Swan Lake” at the King Center on Saturday, May 4 at 6 p.m. Over 150 locally trained dancers will grace the stage to tell the triumphant story featuring a moonlit lake, swan maidens and true love. Tickets start at $44.

• Vicki Lawrence and Mama: A Two-Woman Show: Actress and comedian Vicki Lawrence brings her character Thelma Harper/Mama to the King Center on Sunday, May 5 at 7 p.m. Lawrence is known for her roles on “The Carol Burnett Show,” “Mama’s Family” and “The Cool Kids.” Tickets start at $30.

• Steve Trevino: Comedian Steve Trevino, also known as “America’s Favorite Husband,” brings his Good LIfe Tour to the King Center on Saturday, May 11 at 8 p.m. His relatable approach affirms his status as one of the country’s fastest-rising comics. Tickets start at $34.50.

• Classic Albums Live: Queen: News of the World: Classic Albums Live brings Queen: News of the World to the King Center on Saturday, May 18 at 8 p.m. Classic Albums Live recreates albums live on stage, note for note, cut for cut, using the world’s best musicians. Tickets start at $29.

• Shemekia Copeland: Award-winning blues singer Shemekia Copeland will perform at the King Center’s Studio Theater on Sunday, May 26 at 7 p.m. Copeland is known for the fearlessness, honesty and humor of her music. Tickets start at $42.50.

• Special EFX: Jazz-fusion group Special EFX featuring Chieli Minucci will give a concert at the King Center’s Studio Theater on Saturday, June 1 at 7:30 p.m. The program will also feature Eric Marienthal on sax, Brian Bromberg on bass, Jay Rowe and Joel Rosenblatt. Tickets start at $60.

• Kim and Kayla Waters: Regalitos presents a benefit for Brevard’s underserved community on Sunday, June 2 at 4 p.m. in the King Center’s Studio Theater. Father and daughter team Kim Waters, saxophonist, and Kayla Waters, pianist, will give a concert. Tickets start at $67.50.

'Space: The Local Frontier' at Derek Gores Gallery

Derek Gores Gallery, 1418 Highland Ave., Melbourne, features an exhibit titled "Space: The Local Frontier" through May 26. More than 25 "artstronauts" were asked to create works reflecting life on the Space Coast. Meet the artists at Studios of Cocoa Beach

The Studios of Cocoa Beach, 165 Minutemen Causeway, presents an exhibition titled “Two Artists, Two Styles,” on display through June 2. The featured artists are “Baby Lemonade,” also known as Samantha Deebel, who describes her art as “cosmic abstract expressionism,” and Jax Kwok, whose work celebrates the beauty of nature with touches of whimsy and fantasy. Memorial Day program at the Liberty Bell Museum

Honor America, Inc. will host a Memorial Day program at the Melbourne Liberty Bell Museum, 1601 Oak Street, Melbourne, on Monday, May 27 from 11 a.m. to noon. Ranger-led tour of Turkey Creek Sanctuary

Turkey Creek Sanctuary, 1518 Port Malabar Blvd NE, Palm Bay, offers free ranger-led tours on the first and third Sundays of each month, excluding holidays, from 10 to 11 a.m. Participants should meet at the sanctuary Nature Center and bring sturdy tennis shoes or boots, sunscreen, insect repellent, water, snacks, binoculars and a hat. Tours will take place on the boardwalk and various trails. Each tour will be led by a park ranger and will focus on common plants and animals found in the sanctuary. Total distance for tours is approximately 1 to 1.5 miles and should take about 1 hour to 1 1/4 hours to complete. Admission is free. To sign up, call the Nature Center at 321-676-6690.

Free boat trip to Samsons Island

Samsons Island is a 52-acre passive nature island in the Banana River, accessible only by water, with docks on the south, east and north sides of the island for public use. The City of Satellite Beach provides free boat transportation to and from Samsons Island conservation area and nature park on the first and third Sunday of each month at 9 a.m., weather permitting. Guests will meet back at the main dock at noon for the return trip. Trips will depart from and return to the Satellite Beach Fire Department, 1390 S. Patrick Drive. Reservations are required. Third Thursday at The Avenue Viera

This free, family-and-pet friendly night will be outdoors in the Central Park area of The Avenue Viera, 2261 Town Center Ave., on the third Thursday of every month. This month’s event will be Thursday, May 16 from 5 to 8 p.m. Enjoy live music, vendors, complimentary snacks and a free drink or ice cream. There will be live music by Whiskey JuJu. Fly-in/Drive-in breakfast at Warbird Air Museum

Valiant Air Command’s Warbird Air Museum continues its monthly Fly-In/Drive-In Breakfast on the second Saturday of every month from 8 to 10 a.m. Tickets are $14, which includes a chef-prepared breakfast and admission to the museum for the rest of the day. Bark Brew Fest in Cocoa Village

Bring your canine companion to Dirty Oar Beer Company, 329 King Street, Cocoa, for the 33rd Bark Brew Fest on Saturday, May 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. The evening will include bingo, prizes, raffle baskets and a 50/50 drawing. Cocoa Beach Friday Fest

Downtown Cocoa Beach will hold a family-friendly Friday Fest on the third Friday of every month along Minutemen Causeway from 6 to 10 p.m. There will be live music, food trucks and local artisans showcasing their unique crafts. Admission is free. Visit cocoabeachmainstreet.org.

NKF Bicycle Bar Tour from Port Canaveral to Cocoa Beach

Madhatter Promotions will host the annual NKF Bicycle Bar Tour of Hope from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Saturday, May 25, to support the National Kidney Foundation of Florida. You will enjoy a drink at each of eight stops, but you will burn off those extra calories on the 9.5-mile bike tour from Cape Canaveral to Cocoa Beach. Tickets are $25 each in advance or $35 at the event. The tour starts at FishLips Waterfront, 610 Glen Cheek Drive, Cape Canaveral, followed by La Cantina, Tiny Tavern, Sandbar Sports Grill, Cocoa Beach Fish Camp Grill, Slide Inn, Ellie Mae’s and Carib Brewery. Food Truck Friday in Rockledge
