Here are some wellness habits that I wish I knew a lot sooner. When I'm stressed out, when I'm filled with anxiety, I like to pause, and I try to surrender the moment. I let go of the fact that I'm not in control, and I surrender to the lesson that's trying to come in. I start every single day off with two cups of water, which is very challenging for me to do. And when I do do that, it feels like I'm starting my day with this big win.

I'm setting myself up for more wins throughout the day. Water is good for you. Drink water, everybody. Over the last year, I began to change my relationship with my phone, with social media, with technology. Putting away my phone, closing the app, sometimes deleting the app to come back to my center, to just be in the present moment, to focus on nothing but the present. It's taken me 36 years to find this relationship with myself, with my body, where I truly appreciate my body for what it is.

And sometimes my body changes, and sometimes my body looks different. Sometimes it feels different. But it's always still my body, and so I treat my body with respect. Respect being the words that I say to myself, the fuel that I put in my body, and then the way I allow that engine to run. I really learned to punctuate at the end of my no. So not a "no and," not a "no but," not a "no maybe," but "no" and "no."

I give necessary noes to open up space for even more necessary hell-yeses. That yes may be to do nothing than to sit in peace. Or to take in a little soul care, as I call it. Or to take on another project. But I say no to create and to open up space for yes somewhere else.
