4K TV Deals Aren’t Waiting for the Holidays, and Neither Should You

Advertiser Disclosure: At Slickdeals, we work hard to find the best deals. Some products in our articles are from partners who may provide us with compensation, but this doesn’t change our opinions.

August is notorious for being the one month with no major holidays or yearly sales events. When you look past the present, this month might mean something else – August is the calm before the storm. Once Labor Day kicks off the holiday shopping season, 4K TV deals and discounts will start to really heat up. It’s time to get serious about deal hunting.

If you aren’t in it for the thrill of the hunt, you can always buy a new 4K TV right now and still reap the benefits of great prices. Multiple retailers are offering all-time low prices on some of the most popular 4K TVs of 2021.

The Best 4K TV Deals Right Now

Here are the best 4K TV deals we’ve seen this month:

Sony 65 Class X90CJ Series 4K UHD TV
Credit: Sony

Sony 65″ Class X90CJ Series 4K UHD TV

Sale Price: $1,299.99 | Reg. Price: $1,599.99

This Costco deal offers the lowest price we’ve seen on a 2021 65″ Sony X90CJ, a popular midrange choice for gamers and cinephiles. Packed with immersive sound features like Acoustic Multi-Audio sound positioning and a bevy of 4K XR Upscaling picture modes, the X90CJ is a solid pick if you want the home theater experience without paying the theater prices.

The savings don’t end with the $300 discount. The X90CJ bundle deal includes a free three-year Allstate Protection Plan (typically priced at $99), which should appear in your cart along with the TV. Those who are cautious about “playing the panel lottery” will appreciate that added layer of protection on top of Costco’s historically customer-friendly return policy. Per NervousSparrow787‘s advice, you’ll have better luck getting service from the warehouse than the logistics department.

LG 65 OLED evo Gallery TV
Credit: LG

LG OLED65G1PUA 65″ OLED evo Gallery TV

Sale Price: $2,496.99 | Reg. Price: $3,087

True to form, BuyDig has engineered a multi-layered bundle deal that features quite a few ways to save. First and foremost, this is the lowest price we’ve seen on this particular LG Gallery TV. On top of that, BuyDig is giving away free $200 Visa gift cards with the purchase of any LG OLED evo TV. If you haven’t saved enough already, make sure you’ve downloaded the Slickdeals browser extension — BuyDig participates in Slickdeals Cashback Rewards, where you can earn up to 2.5% back on your purchase.

Like fellow Gallery models, the evo emits bright, precise light from millions of self-lit pixels. You’d think it would be difficult to fit top-of-the-line saturation and picture clarity into such a slim device, but the evo is practically a framed screen — there’s nothing but picture.

Before you buy, you should think about where you plan to mount or place the LG evo. On the original deal thread, sohaltang mentioned that this TV does not come with a stand. The omission may suggest you’re supposed to wall mount the TV, or perhaps LG is hoping you’ll buy its proprietary stand for $97.99. If you don’t want to do any of that, listen to ursus, who vouched for the affordable generic stands available on eBay and Amazon.

Samsung 50 Class 65AU8000 4K Crystal UHD LED Smart TV with HDR

Samsung 50″ Class 65AU8000 4K Crystal UHD LED Smart TV with HDR

Sale Price: $567.99 | Reg. Price: $899.95

Walmart is currently offering a killer 36% discount on the Samsung Class 65AU8000 4K Smart TV. The Samsung 65AU8000 is a serviceable midrange TV, equipped with Dynamic Crystal Color technology, 4K UHD upscaling and an impressive variety of connectivity options (including nearby PCs and laptops).

While the 65AU8000 may not offer the latest cutting-edge features compared to the other 4K TVs on this list, this Walmart deal might be one of the best for sheer value. In terms of 4K TV classification, the 65AU8000 is classed just a hair’s breadth below Samsung’s QLED line, but it’s still fancier than most of its fellow Crystal UHD models. If you prefer a well-rounded and affordable TV over the latest and greatest, this might be the one for you.

Sony 65″ Class BRAVIA XR X90J 4K Smart Google TV

Sale Price: $1,349.99 | Reg. Price: $1,599.99

In comparison to its cohort of BRAVIA 4K TVs, the X90J is a modest midsize option suitable for plenty of different uses. Most of its features are geared toward easy navigation (a Google standard), connectivity with other smart devices and dynamic image processing.

Future-forward 4K TV shoppers will be happy with the X90J’s HDMI 2.1-enhanced connectivity, but dedicated next-gen console gamers might be concerned about its lack of variable refresh rate or automatic low-latency mode. Between its dedicated Game Mode and its broad array of picture-enhancing features, you likely won’t have any major issues with this TV unless your gaming setup has an undeniable need for speed.

If you’re feeling risky (and patient), the X90J is likely to drop in price as we get closer to the peak shopping season — it’s already $150 cheaper at Best Buy than it was in July.

2 inbody Class 4K UHD Smart 80 Series TV with AI ThinQ 65UP8000PUA
Credit: LG

LG 65″ Class 4K 80 Series TV with AI ThinQ

Sale Price: $776.99 | Reg. Price: $949.99

The 65″ LG UHD 80 Series is slender in both profile and price. If you have an awkwardly proportioned space that might not typically allow for a relatively large TV, this shallow (and fairly lightweight) model might be a good fit for you.

Feature-wise, LG took a “little bit of everything” approach when designing the UHD 80 Series. Game Optimizer reduces latency with its customizable settings while the Quad Core 4K Processor upscales and enhances the picture — and it is all tied together by LG’s signature ThinQ AI and Magic Remote (among other connectivity options).

3 inbody samsung Class Q80A Series QLED 4K UHD Smart Tizen TV
Credit: Samsung

Samsung 65″ Class Q80A Series 4K Smart Tizen TV

Sale Price: $1,399.99 | Reg. Price: $1,699.99

If you’re in the market for a crisp, vivid TV screen that will immerse the entire room in your shows and movies, you should check out Samsung’s Q80A line of QLED TVs. Cinephiles and gamers will especially appreciate the combined power of Direct Full Array dimming, intelligent Quantum 4K Processing and Quantum HDR12X.

Slickdealers hold varying opinions on the Q80A, especially those who own older models from the same Samsung line. It sounds like these issues stem from personal brightness preferences, which is hardly an indictment against the TV itself. As randomchaos pointed out, the Q80A is well suited for shoppers looking for an IPS panel TV designed to accommodate awkward/multiple viewing angles.

LG 48″ Class CX Series OLED 4K UHD Smart webOS TV (2020 Model)

Sale Price: $1,299.99 | Reg. Price: $1,399.99

You can save $100 on one of our most frequently featured OLED TVs from 2020, the LG CX Series 4K Smart TV. Burn-in might be a much smaller issue than in the days of plasma screens, but some OLED TV owners are still cautious. According to Slickdealer Corporate Thug, Best Buy’s Geek Squad is the only retail store that offers burn-in coverage. If you were considering buying a discounted LG CX TV elsewhere, this might factor into your calculations.
