There’s an early front-runner for the 2024 “American Idol” crown. Three contestants earned Platinum Tickets to Hollywood this year from judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. Although no Platinum Ticket holders have gone on to win the ABC singing competition in previous seasons, we published a poll asking fans who is most likely to take the prize this year. See the full results below.

Julia Gagnon led the way with nearly half of the votes cast, followed closely by Abi Carter. A chunk of loyal viewers think the trend that no Platinum Ticket winners go all the way will continue. Odell Bunton Jr. has the support of just 3% of our voters, but he has plenty of time to win viewers over in the coming weeks.

Julia’s journey began with her singing “Ain’t No Way” at the auditions. “Did that come out of your mouth?” Lionel asked. “You’ve got several soul singers that are inside of you,” Katy added. “You could go really far. You could be Top 10.” Lionel showered her with more love, stating, “I grew up with Aretha Franklin. There are certain songs you just don’t sing because you just can’t touch the original. You just made it not only your song, but you did things that are just beyond. That was absolutely outstanding.”

On Sunday, March 31 and Monday, April 1, the journey continues for these three contestants and 140 others. The Platinum Ticket holders don’t have to compete in the Idol Arena on Sunday night, but they will take the stage on Monday for the Showstoppers round. At that point the judges will announce who has made the Top 24 for Season 22. Obviously, we’ll be there to cover every minute and detail!
