'Animal Storm Squad' Sneak Peek: Meet the Team That's Saving the World 1 Animal at a Time
Get ready to meet the Animal Storm Squad, a team of animal rescue experts featured on the new Nat Geo WILD docu-series of the same name. These dedicated animal lovers are also meteorologists, storm chasers, and emergency personnel, and they risk their own lives to rescue trapped and injured pets after natural disasters. We’ve got an exclusive sneak peek at the new series, but here’s a warning: Even the iciest of hearts will melt at this clip.
No doubt about it, sometimes Mother Nature really likes to show us who’s boss. And while most disasters move people to band together to help their fellow man, very few people show up for animals. That’s where vet tech Karissa Hadden and her ultimate first responder squad step in to help the forgotten pets who are trapped after Mother Nature’s wrath.

Tornadoes, floods, hurricanes, wildfires… you name it, this group has seen it — and climbed through the rubble in the aftermath of it. But it’s all worth it for this team of heroes when they get to reunite missing animals with their owners.
Weather forecaster and trained firefighter Erik Fox says the group does it all for the grieving families, who have lost so much already. “All the animals we’ve saved have put smiles on people’s faces, and we will continue to do that as long as it’s possible,” Fox says. “If we can bring one smile, it’s worth everything.”
