2Pac’s Brother, Mopreme, Blasts Drake For Using Pac A.I. Vocals On Kendrick Lamar Diss

Mopreme Shakur, the brother of late rap icon Tupac Shakur, has blasted Drake for using A.I. generated vocals that eerily resembles Pac’s voice on his latest Kendrick Lamar diss, “Taylor Made.”
According to TMZ, whom Shakur spoke to regarding the track, Mopreme was displeased with Drake inserting his late brother into his dispute with Kendrick. K. Dot previously took shots at Drake on Future and Metro Boomin’s single “Like That” last month.
From Mopreme’s view, “weaponizing” Pac’s voice in a rap war was unnecessary given the circumstances, likening the move to utilizing a tank or nuclear bomb in a one-on-one battle.
He also echoed Suge Knight’s sentiment that 2Pac is not to be used as a “pawn” in a war he’s not a part of, but acknowledged he’s a fan of both Drake and Kendrick Lamar and hopes to see both sides compete via records rather than in the streets.
Last year, Mopreme addressed speculation regarding Sean “Diddy” Combs’ alleged involvement in the murder of Tupac Shakur that resurfaced amid the various sexual assault lawsuits brought against the embattled rap mogul. According to Shakur, Combs personally reached out to him years ago to deny any involvement in his bother’s passing.
“The boy Puffy called me, though,” Shakur said during an interview with The Art of Dialogue. “Puffy called me back in the day… He was like, ‘I just want you to know I ain’t have nothing to do with your brother’s [murder]. I know who you are, but we never met and I just want to call you man to man and let you know that I ain’t have nothing to do with your brother’s death.'”
While Mopreme recalled Combs’ tone as being “genuine,” he says he continued to reserve his judgement of the Bad Boy Records founder. He felt all of the facts regarding Pac’s murder had yet to be confirmed at that time.
“I told him I appreciate the call, but the truth has yet to come out, so we gon’ see,” he continued. “Back then, I wanted all the information I could get. I heard what he said, but this sh*t been so chaotic. Ain’t know which way to go until you found out more information… He could have been trying to cover his a**, or he could have been sincere.”
In 2023, Duane “Keefe D” Davis was arrested and charged in connection with 2Pac’s 1996 murder in Las Vegas. Davis has maintained his innocence and is currently awaiting trial.
