Watch the First Trailer for "Casting JonBenét"
Months after an influx of documentaries and TV specials were released to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of the murder of child beauty queen JonBenét Ramsey, Netflix has decided to release a documentary of their own - and it's unlike anything the world has seen yet.
Taking a very different route from other features that have attempted to solve the mystery of the 6-year-old's death, Casting JonBenét explores the circumstances of her murder through actors in the Boulder, Colorado area, all auditioning for the roles of JonBenét, her brother Burke Ramsey, and her parents, Patsy and John Ramsey. As The Hollywood Reporter explains, the film allows these actors to "offer their own theories and suspicions about what happened," as well as why they believe the case still endures today.
The first trailer, released on Thursday, is surprisingly intimate, absolutely heartbreaking, and very, very creepy. Casting JonBenét hits Netflix on April 28.
