Last fall, Trump supporters rallied together under operation #TrumpCup. Now they’re supporting a total boycott of the coffee chain after Starbucks chairman and CEO Howard Schultz posted an open letter yesterday condemning President Trump’s executive order denying entry to the U.S. to all refugees and banning immigration from seven majority-Muslim countries.

In his letter, Schultz promised to hire 10,000 refugees over the next five years.

“There are more than 65 million citizens of the world recognized as refugees by the United Nations,” Schultz wrote. “We are developing plans to hire 10,000 of them over five years in the 75 countries around the world where Starbucks does business.”

The hiring program in the U.S. will start with "individuals who have served with U.S. troops as interpreters and support personnel in the various countries where our military has asked for such support."

Soon after Starbucks posted Schultz’s letter, conservatives announced that they would #BoycottStarbucks on social media.

To clarify, 10,000 jobs will be created for refugees in Starbucks locations in 75 countries around the world (not just the United States). These jobs will be in addition to their existing programs to hire 10,000 U.S. veterans and military spouses and create local jobs in at least 15 low- to medium-income communities in the United States by 2018, as well providing continued support to training at-risk and homeless youths to be baristas.

Other people pointed out the ironies of the boycott.

While other people saw the good that the boycott could actually bring.
