Tom Avoids Hiddleswift Talk
In a new feature for Interview magazine, Benedict Cumberbatch recently chatted with his BFF Tom Hiddleston. Their friendship is undeniable, as they covered everything from Tom’s “English smile and charm” to Benedict telling Tom he can “tell me to fuck off if you want… because I’m your friend.” The inevitable - Taylor Swift - came up, but in the form of a short explanation from Benedict. He said to his subject, “And there’s another weight of us being in the public eye, which is this presumption that, because your work and your promotion work is very public, your private life should be, too.” He added that he wasn't going to ask questions about Tom’s personal life “just because there are unsolicited photographs of him and a certain someone, in a relationship or together. I’m not going to get into that.” And true to his own charms, Benedict closed topic with the nicest words: “So that door is closed, dear reader.” Tom responded with "Thank you," before Benedict reminded him, “I know you’d do the same for me.”
Taylor and Tom dated for some three months before news broke that that their relationship was over Sept. 6. Nearly two weeks later, at the 2016 Emmy Awards, Tom told People that he and Taylor were still in contact. (His exact words are, “Yes. Yes, we are.”) And then he twirled with Priyanka Chopra and reportedly exchanged phone numbers.
