You Can Now Order a Secret Starbucks Purple Drink — But There's a Catch

From Cosmopolitan

A few weeks ago, the secret Starbucks Pink Drink dominated my Instagram feed with all of its beauty. It was a magical social media moment because Starbucks + pink drink = happiness.

In the past few days, an even newer ~secret~ drink has been all up in my feed - the Purple Drink (clever name), which is like the Pink Drink's cool older sister.

It looked so cute I just wanted to Instagram it and skip down the street while drinking it. The ingredients, according to several accounts, were passion iced tea, soy milk, vanilla syrup, and blackberries, which sounded delicious. There is nothing I won't do for a new Starbucks drink or a good Instagram, so I set out to make it happen.

My goal was to order this:

What I ended up with was a dark pink, not-even-slightly-purple beverage. With a heavy heart, I showed the barista what I was going for and asked if he could try just one more time with coconut milk. Once again, the results were underwhelming.

The coconut milk version was slightly lighter, but neither of the drinks were peak Purple Drink. (FYI, if you're thinking of trying this, I found the coconut milk version to be more refreshing.)

The barista was convinced that the drink I showed him was just perfectly filtered to look purple, but I still believe in the possibility of the #PurpleDrink and I won't give up on it. Never give up on your dreams, you guys.
