I Interviewed Blake Lively About "The Shallows" Dressed as a Shark and She Told Me My Fin Was Flaccid

From Cosmopolitan

When given the opportunity to chat all things shark (and seagull!)-themed with Blake Lively, thanks to her new movie of the summer/year/forever The Shallows, dressing up like an actual shark seemed like a given.

Unfortunately, the shark onesie I purchased online looked more like a campy velour stingray than, you know, a scary predator (or even Left Shark - I couldn't find one of those costumes that would ship in time) and also the headpiece was too small, so you couldn't even really see my sharp shark's teeth. As she kindly tried to pull the hood part down further just prior to our interview starting, Blake noted that I have a big head; prodded by her manager, who had made me do a twirl in the interview suite as I entered, she also noted that my shark's fin was a bit small and "flaccid." So there you go.

After discussing her fondness for sharks IRL, her "sharkiest quality," and of course her breakout co-star Steven Seagull, Blake did conclude our interview by saying she liked the onesie after all, even that she'd cuddle me in it. (She did not.) I offered to leave it behind for her, but I did not either because to be honest, I had gotten a bit sweaty in it.
