Days after being arrested in Georgia, Aaron Carter sat down with Entertainment Tonight to discuss his health, cyberbullying, and his current relationship with brother Nick. According to Aaron, Nick “made no efforts” to call following the arrest, which was made on charges of driving under the influence and possession of marijuana. “How about all of the other options he had? How about calling me in jail?” Aaron told ET. “I don’t need Nick’s help. I don’t need that. I don’t need help. What I need is for people to understand that I’m human and I make mistakes just like every other human in this world.”

On Saturday, hours after Aaron’s arrest, Nick took to Twitter to show his support, writing, “I love u no matter what & if u feel the need to reach for help, I am here and willing to help you get better.” Nick also retweeted his wife Lauren’s post asking Aaron’s girlfriend Madison to “text me your new number since you changed it again.”

Aaron responded with a statement about why it was wrong for Nick to air their family drama in public. “If my own blood [Nick] truly cared about my well-being, why wouldn’t he call me directly and have a conversation instead of making this about him through a very public forum? That’s not cool at all to use me for his PR and kick me while I am down. I love my family despite it through thick and thin.”

According to Aaron, there’s “too much animosity” for him to have any other type of relationship with his brother. “There’s too much conflict of interest,” he told ET. He also offered this: “I will always love you. And I will always have forgiveness in my heart for you. And before you read tabloids and you make assumptions, you should reach out to me.”

Elsewhere in his ET interview, Aaron opened up about living with hiatal hernia, an eating disorder he’s had for 10 years. Currently, his weight is at “135, 140” and doctors have advised Aaron to “avoid stress ... because I can develop cancer.” He’s tried to maintain his appearance with Voluma filters but not everyone has been supportive, especially on social media. “How would you feel every two seconds, seeing a tweet, ‘You have AIDS, go die. Oh look at this meth head. Meth kills. Crack kills,” Aaron told ET. “I’m not a meth head. I’ve never touched it in my life … it is body-shaming and it’s the toughest thing to deal with.”
