Zac Efron Got a Manicure for a Good Cause

If you’re wondering why you’ve seen hunky actors like Zac Efron on social media with one nail painted, allow me to explain. During the month of October, men can lacquer up one nail to raise awareness and funds for The Polished Man, a charity supporting the end of violence against children. Globally, one in five kids is subjected to physical or sexual abuse before they turn 18 and The Polished Man wants to end that.

But why nail polish? "Being a Polished Man means you don’t turn your back on the vulnerable," ThePolishedMan.com explains. "You raise your voice - and nail - to say, ’Not on my watch.’ You embrace the smirks and know it doesn’t matter; there are worse things than being embarrassed by a little mani. Because nailing it isn’t about shouting the first round, or how much you lift. Nailing it is saying no to violence against children."

On Monday, Chris Hemsworth challenged his brother Liam, Zac Efron, Robert Downey Jr., Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, and Tom Hiddleston to all paint one fingertip to get the word out.
