Each day the editors of Yahoo Beauty are sharing one noteworthy product we feel should be on your radar. From the latest and greatest items that land on our desks to indie products with a cool backstory to the old standbys that have earned a permanent place on our vanities, trust us: you’ll want to check them out.

I’m all for easy nail art that doesn’t require special tools or a particularly steady hand — anything I can’t possibly mess up. Summer beauty is supposed to be easy! Thankfully nail guru Jin Soon Choi read my mind and created an incredible “topping” I’ve come to love as much as the rainbow sprinkles on my Mr. Softee ice cream cone.

Introducing Sahara ($18), a grainy polish that looks exactly like sand. It’s one of three limited edition Jin Soon lacquers for Barney’s that can be worn a variety of ways. I know, because I experimented the minute I got it. Applied on a bare nail, Sahara mimics the look and feel of sand particles — the subtle color variations from pink to tan to gray has a gritty, matte texture. Next, I tried it over Prim ($18), an opaque whitish beige shade that matched the sandy topper. And lastly, I applied it over Ardor ($18), a juicy pink-infused red, for perhaps the most interesting mani of all — the contrasting speckles looked like I dipped my perfectly manicured tips into sand on a beach day. Perhaps not for those with OCD, I personally love the unexpected look of sand on my fingertips and the way it makes me daydream of days by the sea, even when typing away at my desk.
