Each day the editors of Yahoo Beauty are sharing one noteworthy product we feel should be on your radar. From the latest and greatest items that land on our desks to indie products with a cool backstory to the old standbys that have earned a permanent place on our vanities, trust us: you’ll want to check them out.

There’s a lot that can go wrong with eye shadow. It can flake, it can crease, it can look a bit flat — all reasons I tend to avoid it. However, Maybelline’s new Eye Studio Color Molten shadow ($8) is a different story.

With two hues per container, you can apply the lighter shade along the base of the lid and the darker shade along the crease — or just choose one for complete coverage if you want. Either way, the micro-gel formula smoothes over your skin to seep in like a liquid for a subtle glow-y shine that’s not overdone. Whereas I’ve been skipping shadow for about a half decade now, convinced it wasn’t doing anything to enhance my look, the subtle Molten formulation is kind of turning me into a believer.
