But, we’re all our own worst critics—which is why I’ve purchased practically every pore-refining cleanser on the market. Kiehl’s Precision Lifting & Pore-Tightening Concentrate ($64), however, goes beyond the gunk to address oversized pores on a structural level.
The ingredients in the brand’s all-new formula have been shown to strengthen the underlying support structure—it’s called the Dermal Epidermal Junction, for you science types—of the skin. As we age, the DEJ degrades and our skin loses density, firmness, and flexibility. And, because the DEJ extends along the pore wall, this degradation also causes pores to visibly enlarge. But the micro-filtered yeast extract and geranium essential oil infused in Kiehl’s new concentrate keep that wall healthy, firm, and elastic.
