A Fragrance that Smells Like Freshly Cut Grass

Murdock London has a chain of six barbershops in the UK, as well as skin and shave lines, but for me its seven fragrances really stand out. They’re also a treat for Anglophiles, with scents like Black Tea (“inspired by Britain’s legendary spice and tea routes”) and a distinct take on patchouli (“inspired by the free-thinking style of the great British bohemian tradition”).

The brand’s Renshaw cologne, named for amateur tennis superstar William Renshaw, channels all the best aspects of a lazy day in the park. Watercress, mint, and green peppercorn work together to create the most fragrant lawn on earth, while middle notes of jasmine and violet add a floral component without getting too sweet.

Bottom line: Until I’m drinking a Pimm’s cup in the shade watching my more active friends play Frisbee, I’ll be wearing this and looking forward to it. $135, murdocklondon.com
