The pro snowboarder shares his obsessions, on and off the mountain.

It was pro snowboarder Mark McMorris who scored Canada’s very first medal at the Sochi Olympic Games last year. That was just one of many career highs the 21-year-old Saskatchewan native already holds to his name—he was also the first snowboarder ever to land a backside triple cork 1440, now one of his signature moves. Not to mention, he’s and eight time medalist at the X Games.
Even when McMorris isn’t on the clock perfecting his big air and slopestyle moves, you can still find him riding the latest pow. “My favorite place to snowboard with friends and family is Whistler,” he says. “Love being on Canadian soil.” Here, he shares his favorite snow-ready gear.
Oakley PRIZM lens
"It’s the forefront of lens technology. Doesn’t matter if it’s flat light or sunny, the lens increases contrast in snow and makes it easier to see."
DVS McMorris shoe
"My signature shoe with DVS is fancy enough to wear out on the town but will also keep you dry when trucking through the snow."
Burton Process snowboard
"This is the board I have been riding. Very progressive board that is great for all aspects of riding. "
Red Bull
"Because it gives you wings…DUH!"
Skullcandy AirRaid
"It’s so important to have a portable speaker for music on the road, especially one that bumps."
The Burton [ak] BK Insulator
"I don’t go to the snow without this jacket. It’s like wearing a sleeping bag."
Rolex Submariner 14060
"After the Olympics I was given this watch as a gift and I don’t go anywhere without it. It’s a timeless piece."
Oakley Canopy goggle
"This is the frame I ride in because it has so much peripheral vision and fits my face great."
Leica D-lux 6 digital camera
"I love this camera for documenting my travels. I always seem to take better care of the photos I shoot with this versus my iPhone photos."
