Two Pixar Guys Made a Mini-Movie That Will Make You Sob Harder Than You Did During "Up"

From Seventeen

Remember when Nemo's mother Coral and all her eggs were eaten by a barracuda at the beginning of Finding Nemo? Or when Ellie passed away at the beginning of Up, right when Carl had finally saved up enough money to take her on the adventure they'd always dreamed of?

Anyone who's seen a Pixar movie knows the animation studio specializes in making you fall in love with a character, then using that character to break your heart - all in a film's first 10 minutes.

Borrowed Time, a new independent short from Pixar animators Lou Hamou-Lhadj and Andrew Coats, is no exception. The story follows an Old West sheriff who is tormented by guilt and grief years after being involved in a tragic accident. It's dark stuff, for sure.

The short is only 7 minutes long (you can watch the whole thing for free down below), which is all these Pixar pros need to shred your soul into pieces and leave you sobbing on the cold, hard ground. Though the film takes a heartwarming turn toward the end, you should definitely grab some tissues before clicking play.
