Most dudes, myself included, are pretty uninterested in skincare. Anything more than washing our face is a bit of a stretch. It’s not that we don’t know that we could benefit from doing more, it’s just that it’s hard to know what really works, and hard not to feel high maintenance with a skincare regimen.
I, for example, really hate it when my face gets oily, which happens often in the summer. But I’m not about to use powder or carry around blotting papers. So I was pretty psyched when I visited Kiehl’s recently to pick up some lotion and read “Oil Eliminator and Shine Control Spray” on a label. I made an impulse product purchase and it turned out to be a good one—you just spray the stuff on your face and the shine is gone, no cotton pad necessary. The light menthol smells is great, and it really does cool the skin. I brought it to a shoot I was producing last week and everyone, both in front of and behind the camera, loved the spray—and its classic Kiehl’s packaging. Keep a bottle at the office or in your gym bag and use it whenever glowing skin starts to turn shiny. Doesn’t get much easier than that.
