This 1-Year-Old Contouring Her Face Is the Cutest Thing You’ll See Today
Contour makeup is a serious art form. While we’ve meticulously studied how-to videos on contouring by Kardashian-favorite makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic and fabulous YouTuber Patrick Starrr, we have someone else to add to our list of “pros.”
Meet Peace Marie. We stumbled upon an Instagram video that proves this 21-month-old can teach us all a thing or two about shadowing and highlighting our facial features.
In the clip, Peace Marie is seen viewing a YouTube tutorial featuring her makeup artist-mother Felicia LaTour, whose clients include Jhené Aiko, Christina Milian, Karrueche Tran, and Shemar Moore. Then she arranges a countertop mirror at the perfect angle before grabbing a set of brushes and an artist’s palette to contour her face like a true expert.
Peace Marie has been playing with makeup since she was about 6 months old, according to LaTour. “I give her stuff I don’t use and created this cute little kit, but her little butt loves to go through my stuff and touch what’s not hers,” she tells Yahoo Beauty.
While LaTour admits that Peace Marie has nailed the “messy toddler” look, she wants her daughter to understand that “natural beauty is best.” She explains, “On a serious note, she won’t be able to wear makeup unless it’s a natural mascara. As an artist, I don’t wear makeup every day at all, so I will teach her the same … as long as she realizes she doesn’t need it and is just expressing herself.”
