There’s Something About Sweden

Here’s what I know about Sweden: IKEA, meatballs, really good-looking people (Alexander Skarsgard, Elin Kling, Frida Gustavsson…need I go on?). Let’s focus on that last one. Obviously, genetics have a hand in the concentration of beautiful humans to be found in Scandinavia’s largest country. But let’s be honest, genes alone don’t give you that perfectly poreless, porcelain skin. You’ve got to have a good beauty routine, too.

As it turns out, the Swedes have got that covered. In fact, their beauty pharmacies can rival the cultish-ly famous Parisian ones. In neat rows and ultra-clean packaging (what else would you expect?), products from beloved brands like Sachajuan and Estelle & Thild line the shelves. Many of the brands are all-natural and organic, and have been since far before it was trendy. Plus, their labels feature mysterious things like Sea Buckthorn oil and I’ve always been a sucker for exotic-sounding ingredients.

Not planning a trip to Sweden anytime soon? That’s cool. The Swedes are generously importing their beautiful goods stateside these days. Here are the eight lines to look out for.
