The Pale Girl’s Bronzer

You might have a favorite summer bronzer—a cream formula you rub into your cheekbones or a powder compact you swipe across your temples. But if you’re as pale as I, there’s no such thing as natural looking bronzer. Instead, I reach for candy colored blushes. The creamy ones are best, especially when it’s humid out, as they let my skin breathe and turn naturally dewy. If you’re also of the SPF 50, hat-wearing, long-sleeve swimsuit-wearing persuasion, try a warm coral, bright pink, or juicy watermelon shade. They might look intimidating in their compacts and sticks, but they paint a dreamy contrast on fair skin, melting right in for a youthful flush when applied right to the apple of the cheek. It’s my way of jumping on the summer skin bandwagon—without even the slightest hint of a tan.
