The Breakdown: Summer Date Night
What started as a hobby for Lauren Andersen, who told our friends at The Coveteur that she used to bring her makeup to school and do her friends eyeshadow at lunch, has turned her into a go-to makeup artist in Hollywood. Her clients include red carpet fixtures like Reese Witherspoon, Jessica Alba, and Hannah Davis — so yeah, she’s a pretty big deal. She stopped by Yahoo Beauty show us how to create the ultimate summer date night looks. Check out her tips and start swiping right.
1. Prep skin with your favorite foundation and powder.
2. Sweep a light bronze eyeshadow across lids.
3. Smudge a darker bronze eyeliner along the lashline.
4. Use an eyelash curler to lift and define eyes.
5. Apply mascara, starting at the base of the lashes. Lauren is using Avon Mega Effects Mascara.
6. Apply a deep bronze shadow across lids.
7. Apply bronzer to cheekbones, chin and along your hairline.
8. Apply highlighter all over the face using a flat, fluffy brush.
9. Apply an apricot blush to the apples of your cheeks for a healthy flush.
10. To complement the cheek color, use a coral lipstick.
11. Add powder to the t-zone to eliminate excess shine.
