Hollywood darling Dakota Fanning has come a long way since her silver screen debut in the 2001 film, I am Sam. These days, the 21-year-old starlet can be spotted front row at Fashion Weeks across the globe or rocking some of the latest beauty trends from sleek hair to beach waves, and berry lips to graphic liner on the red carpet. Needless to say, we’re completely smitten with her ultra-chic, cool-girl charm.
With four movies set to release in the next year (starting with the May 15th premiere ofEvery Secret Thing), Dakota is a girl on-the-go known for balancing a minimalistic beauty routine and staying ahead of the trends. Case in point: hair accessories. While she might go makeup-free more often than most, the girl’s a master when it comes to embellishing her ‘do.

April 2004
Dakota attends the Holywood Hits Broadway Benefit Gala for Colon Cancer and opts for an adorably voluminous bob and glossy lips.

A now 11-year-old Dakota’s hair accessory game is still going strong, securing her polished, pulled-back look with a bow headband.

Dakota rocks a blowout with major body and shine complete with subtle layers that frame her face.

A newly brunette Dakota arrives at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival donning a sleek style with a bit of bend near the ends for dimension. Age-appropriate she is, she opts for no makeup, putting her freckles on display.
May 2008
Supporting the cause at the Lupus LA Orange Ball, Dakota wears a side part with hair pulled off her face and a bit of color on the apples of her cheeks for a super fresh flush.
September 2008
For the Hounddog premiere, Dakota touches up her lashes with mascara, grooms her brows, and adds body to her hair with big-barrel waves. She brings it all in with her signature lip gloss for a little shine.
