Taraji P. Henson’s Mom Tried to Buy Her Daughter’s MAC Line But It Was All Sold Out
Everyone wants to look like Cookie Lyon! Empire star Taraji P. Henson signed on for a partnership with the makeup company M.A.C back in August and now the #MACTaraji collection has officially launched. The line — which includes an eyeliner, lipstick, face brush, mascara, and two shades of M.A.C.’s notorious skinfinish products — was met with immediate success when the products launched online on September 6th. Actually, it was met with so much success that the line sold out before Henson’s own mother could snag her own set from the company’s website.
In an Instagram photo posted to her account, the actress shared a text message from her mother that read: “I just went on MAC website to check out your product line and the Taraji Glow Reddish Brown, is sold out.”
While it’s disappointing for Henson’s mom that she couldn’t order the Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in “Taraji Glow” ($33) (which is the prettiest reddish brown shade for fall), it was definitely a sweet moment for Henson herself. She excitedly captioned her Instagram post, “WOW!!! My mom tried to order her #TarajiGlow last night aaaaaannnnnnnddd JUST WOW!!! Thank EVERYONE for purchasing and soooooo fast!!!”

Unsurprisingly, her fans have been loving her new M.A.C. collection, even if they haven’t always been a fan of the brand itself. It seems that her followers simply want to support all of her ventures, and it doesn’t necessarily have to be makeup:

Considering Henson’s line sold out quick enough that even her own mother couldn’t get her hands on the collection, it makes us wonder if Kris Jenner has the same issues when trying to buy Kylie’s lip kits (doubtful—she is the worlds most hands on momager, after all). Luckily, Taraji’s M.A.C. line launched in stores today, so Taraji’s mom will have a second chance to pick up her daughter’s line.
