SnappyScreen Is the Tanning Booth of Sunscreens

SnappyScreen is a relatively new beauty brand that gives users a full-body sunscreen application — SPF 15, 30 and 40 — in just 10 seconds.

For those tragic times you leave your house without applying sunscreen (oh, the horror!) or accidentally leave your trusty tube at home — which, let's be clear here, we hope never happens — the universe has your back.

A relatively new beauty brand, known as SnappyScreen, offers beach-goers the opportunity to slather on the SPF they mistakingly forgot at home — hands-free — in less than 30 seconds. Actually, according to the brand, the entire application process takes, literally, 10 seconds. (Ten seconds! Who doesn't have 10 seconds to spare?) The idea is that users step into the station, which, in appearance, is similar to that of a tanning booth, where they would then get sprayed — from head to toe — with sunscreen of their choosing, like SPF 15, 30, or 40.

While it's great that SnappyScreen offers a variety of protection, we — and the American Academy of Dermatology — strongly recommend applying — and rubbing in — a minimum of SPF 30 30 minutes before heading outdoors. "Sprays should be held one inch from the skin and then sprayed until the skin glistens," Joshua Zeichner, director of cosmetic and clinical research in dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, previously told Allure. "It should be rubbed in. If you do not see it on the skin, then it's not there." Meaning, you may need another SnappyScreen go-around if your skin isn't glow-y and glistening with sunblock following the 10-second spray sesh.

The only downside of the whole spray-on sunscreen sitch is that, unfortunately, it's not free — womp, womp — and requires a quick swipe of a credit card (or a reloadable SnappyScreen card) before every use. That is, unless you're staying at a hotel, like the Hyatt or the Marriott, which offers complimentary spray service. For those not staying at a hotel, until SnappyScreen is available everywhere (the dream), you'll just have to keep slathering on your SPF, OG style — with your hands.
