With temperatures marching upwards into the summer months, a full face of makeup can be challenging — if it’ll stay on. So what better time to pare down those precious morning minutes by streamlining your morning beauty routine? And for tips on how to look put together and relatively sweatproof, few would know better than Amanda Freeman, a Harvard Business school grad who ditched her trend forecasting job to found the SLT megaformer studio (think Pilates on steroids) in NYC. “When it comes to my beauty routine and products, I’m a pretty simple girl — that’s just about the only aspect of me that is simple,” says Freeman, laughing. Below, find out her five beauty essentials.

Aquaphor ($5)
“I don’t like the way lip color looks on my lips, so Aquaphor is all I use,” says Freeman. “The last thing I do at night and the first thing I do in the morning is apply a nice thick coat to my lips.  I am full-on addicted to it and avoid chapped lips because of it.  I have panic attacks when I think I might have forgotten to pack a tube or I’ve run out.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Sunscreen Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid SPF 45 ($30)
“I never leave the house without sunscreen and my go-to is this super light sunscreen with SPF 45.  I’m prone to breakouts, and I don’t worry about it clogging my pores.”

Bare Minerals Foundation ($29)
“I wear make up as infrequently as possible, but I do often have things I want to cover up. Bare Minerals powders are great — I use a foundation, mineral veil, and bronzer— for evening out my skin tone. I also use it to cover up imperfections and give me an extra glow.”

Lancome Definicils Waterproof Mascara  ($28)
“While I can usually get away with workout clothes and minimal makeup, there are days when I have to go from a dress and mascara to leggings and a ponytail.  For those days, I am all about waterproof mascara.  This one’s my favorite. It isn’t cheap, but it’s worth it to not have raccoon eyes by the end of the day.”

Mio Clean Slate Wipes ($33)
“I rarely have the opportunity to run home to shower and change post-workout, so I rely on these handy wipes for a faux post-workout cleaning.  Shh…don’t tell anyone. They are safe for facial use, but effective enough for underarm cleaning.”
