She Says She Gets Her Perfect Curls Using Only Aluminum Foil and a Straightener
Norway based stylist and colorist Helin took to her Instagram page to share the secret to her enviably wavy locks, demonstrating in a quick video how she gets her curls using a product from her kitchen.
“This tutorial will show you how to curl your hair with aluminum foil,” she writes in an Instagram post. “If your hair is the worst when it comes to holding a curl, this is a fantastic cure to perpetually straight hair.”
According to Helin, you can do this process for any kind of curl you want, from tight, spiral curls to loose beach waves. She didn’t detail how to get these variations in her video, but she may post others soon.
She waits until the foils have completely cooled off and are cold to the touch before taking them out., then shakes out her hair and spritzes with hairspray.
We’re a little concerned about putting that much heat on our hair at home, and some of her commenters had concerns as well.
“Stupid. This would take 4x longer than using a curling iron and looks like a hot mess. If you have trouble holding a curl just get a good quality hair spray,” wrote morganelysebrown.
